What can REO agents do to speed up the process of a typical bank foreclosure/REO for their Clients?

Nowadays more and more asset managers are looking to move their ever increasing inventory of REO (Real Estate Owned) properties from their portfolios in and timely and efficient manner. As REO Agents we play an important role in making this happen. From the initial occupancy check through the selling of the asset (In this case REO) REO Agents need to have the right set of tools in place to make this a smooth transaction. For example in the initial occupancy check REO Agents need to know their local and state laws in regards to notices to give and procedures to follow if they do find an asset empty with personal property. In some states if you find a property with personal property you automatically have to place an asset on hold and give owners a certain amount of time to reclaim. If not the agent must be able to advise on the best way to dispose of property. From organizing the eviction process, cash for keys, trash out, marketing and finally Escrow; there are many tools that a successful agent can use to their advantage. Some of these tools can range from e-mails, blogs, websites, and rss streams web feeds) can all be used to help move and manage assets, but also various platforms such as REOMastro, DARES, RES Net etc.  Agents must be constantly familiarizing themselves with the various platforms that their client may utilize. It is not enough to simply rely on open houses and flyers to sell REO'S. Agents must network and advertise in various different platforms. Also agents must be up to date with their market areas and provide timely and accurate BPO'S (Broker Price Opinions) to advise their clients in pricing the asset (Property) correctly for a fast DOM (Days on Market) and hopefully with the highest possible Price. With the guidance of a qualified and well informed Real Estate Agent. Banks, Lenders, Asset Mangers and Seller's alike can be sure that their assets will move quickly. And that is good for everyone.
